International Trade Facilitation

International Trade Facilitation

Keston undertakes a broad range of activities aimed at helping first time and existing exporters to internationalise their product/service offerings or operations. Given the company's Anglo-Australian focus, much of this activity has focused on helping UK-based companies to develop trade within Australasia, or Australian companies to develop export markets. Over the last twenty years, Keston has assisted over 75 companies in developing export markets in Australia or Europe.

Framework Contract for International Trade Opportunities (ITO) Programme – Welsh Assembly Government (2008 to 2013)

Keston provided a range services under Framework Contract with the Welsh Assembly Government. Under this contract, Keston provided trade development work for over 50 Welsh companies, specifically focused on Oceania (Australia and New Zealand).

Requirements of the work varied considerably from company to company and included a number of elements, such as:

  • Providing an overview of the market,
  • Researching potential customers, competitors, and distributors/JV partners,
  • Providing information on regulation, legislation and government structure,
  • Liaising with trade associations and peak industry bodies,
  • Qualifying lists of potential customers, competitors and distributors,
  • Undertaking promotional mailshots for a company’s products or services,

Feedback from each company on the quality of research and assistance provided to them by Keston was very positive and led to the identification of several trade opportunities for Welsh companies.
